Gold Coast Private Hospital are seeking Registered Midwives to join our team of professionals in providing excellent patient care.

As a Registered Midwife your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups
  • Plan, assess, implement and evaluate midwifery care in collaboration with women, their families and the multidisciplinary team so as to achieve identified goals and health outcomes
  • Supervise, direct, guide junior nurses and undergraduate midwives in provision of midwifery care
  • Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs

Gold Coast Private is a 314 bed, 21 operating theatre facility offering the highest standard of clinical expertise and nursing care. By offering the latest technology, and state-of-the-art hospital facilities, we attract doctors and surgeons from all over the world. RSL Lifecare invites all new graduate nurses, who are looking to establish a career in an Aged carer setting, to join is the far North NSW.

3 month rotations across following facilities:

  • Byron Bay
  • Ballina 
  • Lismore
  • Condobolin (Accomodation to be provided for this facility)

As the Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Participation in shift handover with an emphasis on residents who have altered clinical status or who are new to the unit
  •  Review of all documentation completed since the last shift worked
  • Follow up of all outstanding clinical issues including incidents. Infections and altered clinical status
  • Oversighting and/or undertaking medication rounds ensuring that all associated documentation is completed

The Person

To be successful for this role, you will have:

  • Current Nurse Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Availability to work various shifts
  • Working knowledge of quality systems as they relate to the provision of nursing services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including proficiency in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with consumers and all members of the care team
  • Computer literacy
  • Effective time management skills and flexibility to respond to changing priorities or tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a team and provide direction
  • Appreciation and acceptance of people from different backgrounds and beliefs
  • Current Flu Vaccination – Essential
