The position provides professional support and assistance to the allied health team and provides leadership in service development, client advocacy, and community engagement.

About you

You should be an experienced professional with strong leadership, business development, advocacy, and stakeholder management skills.

The ideal candidate will have diverse industry and organisational knowledge. You will help drive performance culture and champion our core values. 

You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, wide ranging administration skills, a high level of organisation and autonomy, and work diligently to applicable regulatory and service objectives. You ensure service delivery, participant, and consumer expectations are effectively coordinated and documented. Your core purpose is to optimise customer satisfaction.

The role would suit an experienced allied health clinician or health administration professional who can uphold our irrefutable reputation for getting things done. 

Essential Requirements of the Role

  • Demonstrated understanding of the health and disability industry. 
  • High level administration skills and/or previous experience in a similar administration capacity.
  • Proven experience in managing high volume, complex inbound calls and email correspondence - delivering high quality customer service, ideally within a medical or health care related environment.
  • High level skills in management of clients with complex needs in a supportive and effective manner. 
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and make effective decisions where there are competing priorities, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in general computer literacy and the ability to pick up new programs and business systems with ease.
  • Understanding of relevant government programs such as the DVA system, Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan items, NDIS, and Private Health Funds.
  • Developed understanding of business risk, project management and planning, time management, legal responsibilities, and workplace health and safety.

Desirable Attributes

  • Cert III or equivalent experience in business administration.
  • Experience in the delivery of private allied health services.

Alliance Rehabilitation is seeking an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our growing service.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated assessment, clinical reasoning skills, and evidence-based intervention for the client group (disability, chronic, & complex care). 
  • Demonstrated high-level communication skills and confidence with motivational interviewing. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of relevant government programs such as DVA, Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan items, NDIS, and Private Health Funds.
  • Sound understanding of business risk, planning, time management, legal responsibilities, and workplace health and safety.

Desirable Attributes

Essential Requirements of the Role

  • Bachelor or Masters level degree in Exercise Physiology 
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Current federal police check
  • Positive notice (working with children check)
  • Queensland Blue Card
  • Unrestricted drivers license
  • Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number

Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with Exercise and Sports Science Australia as an AEP. Certified copies of relevant qualification and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.

Allied Connect is a multidisciplinary community allied health practice specialises in providing rehabilitation services to a range of clients in the community and aged care settings. We offer a varied caseload including neurological, orthopaedic, cardiorespiratory and postsurgical/ deconditioned clients.

Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with an interest in home based assessment and equipment prescription, slow stream rehabilitation, individual one on one and group based exercise therapy, falls prevention, manual handling training and injury prevention are encouraged to apply.

Your role will include a mixture of community and residential clients.

The community component will involve:

  • Visiting community clients once referred to assess and report on their current needs and devise a therapy plan to meet goals based on those assessed needs.
  • Advising on the required frequency of visit and be able to schedule your time efficiently to consult with numerous clients. Applicants with a knowledge of community & disability care (CHSP, NDIS, STRC, HCP & DVA) will be highly regarded.

The residential aged care facility component of your role will include:

  • Working with the health care staff at the facility to assess new residents when they enter the facility.
  • Advise on manual handling requirements and design therapy programs meet any assessed needs and goals.
  • Directing appropriate staff to complete funded interventions as guided by the ACFI as well as completing your own complex pain management interventions as directed.

Your role will also include monitoring of aids and equipment, upgrading or downgrading clients required aids as necessary, monitoring falls within the facility in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team and providing solutions to minimise the fall risk. You will have therapy time available to complete one on one or group therapy / rehabilitation sessions pending the current resident mix and your strengths / preferences with regards to interventions.

Casual  positions are available for immediate start. All applicants must be registered with the AHPRA and have or be willing to obtain a police name check. Qualifications in training and assessment are advantageous but not essential.

Experience in community based rehabilitation is desired however new graduates are welcome to apply. Full training is provided, opportunity to progress to Full Time for the right candidate.

You will assist individuals to engage in meaningful occupations through a client centred approach, which enables optimal health and wellbeing. This includes helping injured or ill workers to facilitate their rehabilitation with an end goal of returning to work, pre-employment assessments, and onsite injury prevention work.

You will be accountable for:-

  • Assessing injured workers to determine the best way to help them get back to work
  • Visiting workplaces to gain an understanding of what challenges an injured worker may face and educating workplaces on how to prevent workplace injuries
  • Conducting Pre-Employment Assessments including drug & alcohol, audiology, spirometry and functional testing to assess fitness for work
  • Reviewing high risk manual tasks to determine how they can be performed safely
  • Providing clinical opinions and justification through report writing
  • Case managing complex injuries and liaising with treating doctors and health professionals to help an injured worker recover and get back to work.
About You

As a Workplace Rehabilitation professional with at least 12 months experience in a similar role (preferable), some of your other talents and attributes include:

  • Completion of an Allied Health Degree
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA or accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist with ESSA.
  • An ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic team environment
  • Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport.
