About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the rehabilitation units of Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Services located on Bloomfield Campus, Orange. The applicant should be an experienced drug and alcohol nurse. The position is responsible for providing specialist nursing support to staff and patients in the assessment, management and referral of patients with drug and alcohol issues.

Bloomfield is home to 11 Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) Units. This position will sit across all of the units under the MHDA Directorate and the non-acute rehabilitation units.

The Role :

We currently have a vacancy for a First Aid / Administration Officer at our Smithton facility located in Circular Head, Tasmania. The successful candidate will be required to provide front line first aid, OH&S, emergency services and RTW / rehabilitation services for the site. In addition, this role will provide support for other HR programs, such as, pre-employment physical capabilities assessments, drug and alcohol testing program, maintaining supply of medical consumables and PPE, recruitment interviewing, reference checking and VEVO checks as part of the role responsibilities. You must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for this role.

You Will Have:

  • Relevant nursing qualifications (RN/EN preferred) 
  • Previous experience working in an industrial / manufacturing  environment.
  • A passion about getting things right first time and has great attention to detail, excellent communication skills and able to maintain strict confidentiality of information processed.
  • Flexibility with working hours to ensure coverage of plant hours.
  • Adequately competent with computers you will be prepared to roll up the sleeves and get involved.

Rural and Remote Medical Services Ltd (RaRMS) is currently seeking an experienced and motivated part-time, 24 hours per week, Registered Nurse (RN) to join our passionate team of health professionals at our practice in Bourke, NSW.  The successful applicant may have the option to transition to full-time employment from the end of this year.

Bourke is a beautiful historic town set on the banks of the Darling River, 760 km north-west of Sydney and 133 km south of the Queensland - New South Wales border.  Lying on the edge of the desert and servicing the surrounding large pastoral properties, it is a town which is relatively prosperous due to tourism and people passing through on their way to or from Queensland. In recent times the impressive Back o' Bourke Exhibition Centre has drawn visitors eager to learn about outback Australia.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to meet the following criteria:

Essential:

  • Current AHPRA registration as an RN. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of general practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of current infection control policies & procedures, current CPR certification & knowledge of emergency resuscitation.
  • Passion for Chronic Disease Management & achieving best patient outcomes.
  • Willingness to undertake a NSW Working with Children Check or have a current NSW Working With Children clearance to work in child related employment in NSW.
  • Current immunisation certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to work independently & in a team.
  • Driver's licence - unrestricted.

Desirable:

  • Experience using GP software, eg Medical Director/PracSoft or Best Practice an advantage.
  • Experience in a general practice setting preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Experience and qualifications in women's health, spirometry, immunisations (child and adult), chronic disease management highly regarded.

What you'll be doing

Provide high quality client care and clinical leadership through a co-ordinated, proactive approach that targets the needs of clients with HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s) attending NSLHD Sexual Health services. Participate in research that supports the current HIV and STI strategies aimed at reducing HIV transmission. 80% of this role is clinical with 20% supporting Clinic research and Quality Improvement projects.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them

  2. Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with relevant post registration qualifications applicable to HIV/Sexual Health and Research with at least 3 years recent full time equivalent HIV (including Sexual Health) clinical experience

  3. Evidence of advanced clinical practice in caring for clients with HIV and STI’s including demonstrated contribution to the development of clinical practice relating to HIV

  4. Recent experience in research, managing clinical trials and preparation of submissions to relevant Ethics and governing bodies. Demonstrated understanding of ICH-GCP principles for the conduct of Clinical Trials

  5. Demonstrated advanced leadership skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service delivery, quality care and team cohesion

  6. Evidence of personal time management capability, ability to prioritise and effective negotiation skills

  7. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and electronic)

  8. Proven computer literacy (including eMR, CHOC and powerchart) and data management skills
